This Privacy Policy describes how Talkminder collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, timezone, and language preference.

Platform Release Notifications

If you join the release notification list on our website, we collect your email address and the upcoming Talkminder platforms you selected, such as Mac, Windows, or Android.

User-Generated Content

We store the tasks, events, notes, habits, and memories you create within the app to provide you with personalized assistance.

Voice Data

When you use Misu's cloud voice features, audio and related transcripts are sent to OpenAI for real-time processing. Talkminder does not permanently store live voice audio on its servers. Text, tasks, notes, or other structured items you choose to save may remain in your account.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the app, including feature usage patterns, session duration, and interaction frequency.

Device Information

We collect device type, operating system version, and app version to optimize performance and compatibility.

Calendar Data

If you enable calendar sync (Talkminder Pro feature), we access your Google Calendar or Apple Calendar events to provide unified calendar management.

• Store and organize your tasks, events, notes, and preferences

4. Analytics & Data Sharing

We use app analytics data only to operate, maintain, secure, understand the performance of, troubleshoot, and improve Talkminder. We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.

We do not share personal information or analytics data with third parties for their own advertising, data-brokerage, or cross-app tracking purposes. Service providers may process limited data on our behalf only when needed to deliver, secure, support, or improve Talkminder, subject to contractual and privacy obligations.

5. AI Data Processing

Talkminder uses OpenAI API services to power Misu, your AI assistant. When you interact with Misu through voice, text chat, quick commands, or other AI-assisted features, the following data may be sent to OpenAI for processing:

• Your messages and voice input
• Tasks, events, and notes (used as context for personalized responses)
• Stored memories and preferences

How OpenAI handles API data:

• OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in
• OpenAI may retain API content and related metadata for limited periods for abuse monitoring or to operate particular API features
• Retention behavior can vary by API endpoint and the data-control settings available to Talkminder
• Talkminder sends only the content and context needed to provide the feature you requested

AI-generated content such as summaries, suggestions, and extracted tasks are derived from your input and stored in your account. You can view and delete stored memories at any time in the app settings.

6. Data Storage & Security

All user data is stored on Supabase, a secure PostgreSQL-based platform, with encryption at rest. All data transmission between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth with industry-standard JWT tokens. We implement row-level security policies on all database tables to ensure data isolation between users.

7. Third-Party Services

Talkminder integrates with the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Supabase - Database and authentication services
• OpenAI API - AI, speech, and natural language processing
• RevenueCat - Subscription management and payment processing
• Expo / React Native - Mobile app framework
• Google Calendar API and Apple Calendar - Optional calendar synchronization

8. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete individual items (tasks, notes, memories) at any time through the app. If you delete your account, associated account data is removed from Talkminder's systems subject to legal, security, backup, and operational retention requirements. Live voice audio is not permanently stored on Talkminder's servers; OpenAI's handling of API data is described in Section 5.

Platform release notification details are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. They are used only for the releases you selected and are not added to unrelated marketing lists.

9. Your Rights

• Access your personal data (available through the app)
• Delete your data (in-app settings or by contacting us)
• Export your data upon request
• Opt out of non-essential data collection
• Withdraw consent for calendar sync at any time
• Unsubscribe from platform release notifications at any time

10. Children's Privacy

Talkminder is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries outside your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Talkminder after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
